Yogi’s ‘Special 29’ to Clear Maha Kumbh Traffic Jam, Fast-Track PCS Officers Deployed in Prayagraj

Amidst the deteriorating situation at the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a major step to address the rising concerns over the event’s management. Following the Chief Minister’s directives, 29 PCS (Provincial Civil Services) and senior PCS officers from various districts across the state have been deployed to supervise the ongoing Maha Kumbh preparations and improve the overall organization at the site. These officers have been instructed to reach Prayagraj immediately to manage the situation on the ground.

Previously, in response to the growing issues at the Kumbh, ADG (Law and Order) Amitabh Yash was dispatched by special flight to oversee law and order and arrangements at the event. Following this, 29 PCS and senior PCS officers have now been sent to assist and ensure better coordination.

The newly deployed officers have been instructed to reach Prayagraj without any delay. According to the issued order, these officers will stay in Prayagraj till February 17, 2025, and will work alongside Secretary Ashish Kumar Goyal to manage the ongoing event.

Officers Required to Bring Their Staff

The issued order also specifies that these officers must bring their own staff along with them, which includes their personal security (gunner) and official vehicles. The district magistrate of Prayagraj will be responsible for their accommodation arrangements.

Before the deployment of these 29 officers, three PCS officers, namely Prafull Tripathi, Pratipal Singh Chauhan, and Ashutosh Dubey, were already assigned to the Kumbh until February 15, 2025. Now, the following officers have been officially appointed for the task:

1. Joint Magistrate, Barabanki – Rallapalli Jagat Sai

2. Joint Magistrate, Aligarh – Shashwat Tripurari

3. Joint Magistrate, Meerut – Kandarkar Kamal Kishore

4. ADM Judicial, Baghpat – Subhash Singh

5. ADM Judicial, Hathras – Shivnarayan

6. ADM Judicial, Shamli – Parmanand Jha

Additional Police Deployment for Traffic Management

In light of the deteriorating traffic situation and the increasing crowds of devotees, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also ordered the deployment of eight police officers to Prayagraj. These officers will assist in managing the traffic at critical border points, including:

Jaunpur-Prayagraj Border

Rewa, Madhya Pradesh-Prayagraj Border

Kaushambi-Prayagraj Border

Prayagraj-Pratapgarh Border

These officers have been instructed to carry their identification cards, walkie-talkies, nameplates, light vehicles, and riot control equipment while on duty.

With the growing number of devotees attending the Maha Kumbh, these measures are expected to help improve the organization, traffic management, and overall security at the site to ensure a smooth and safe experience for all participants.
