Javelin superstar Neeraj Chopra, one of India’s most eligible bachelors, has tied the knot with tennis player Himani Mor in a surprise ceremony that took everyone by surprise. The 27-year-old Olympic gold medalist and the 25-year-old Himani, hailing from Sonipat, Haryana, announced their marriage on social media.
Neeraj shared the joyous news with his followers, writing, “I began a new chapter of my life with my family. Grateful for every blessing that brought us to this moment together. Bound by love, happily ever after,” along with pictures from the intimate ceremony.
Himani, who is currently pursuing a Master’s in Sports Management at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire, has a rich sports background. She previously represented Delhi University at the national level and earned a gold medal in the 2016 World Junior Tennis Championship in Malaysia. She also participated in the 2017 World University Games in Taipei. Mor, an alumnus of Miranda House in Delhi, is the daughter of Chand Ram and has a brother, Himanshu, who is also a tennis player.
Chopra’s uncle, Bhim, revealed that the wedding took place in India, although the exact location has been kept private. He also mentioned that the couple has left for their honeymoon, though details of their destination remain undisclosed.
Bhim shared, “Yes, the marriage took place in India two days ago. I can’t reveal the exact place. The girl is from Sonipat, and she is studying in the US. They’ve left for their honeymoon, and we wanted to keep the details private.”
Himani’s career-best national ranking was 42 in singles and 27 in doubles, according to the All India Tennis Association (AITA) website. She began participating in AITA events in 2018 and was also an assistant coach for the women’s tennis team at Amherst College in Massachusetts.
Meanwhile, Chopra, who won a gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics and a silver in the 2024 Paris Olympics, had been training in South Africa with legendary javelin thrower Jan Zelezny of the Czech Republic prior to the wedding.
The surprise wedding has captured widespread attention, and fans are wishing the couple a lifetime of happiness as they embark on this new chapter of their lives.
