A devastating incident has shaken the city of Deoria in Uttar Pradesh, where a 15-year-old boy was allegedly raped by two of his friends on January 3. According to Superintendent of Police Vikrant Veer, the incident occurred under the Rudrapur police station jurisdiction, and efforts are underway to apprehend the two accused, aged 15 and 18. The young victim is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.
The boy’s family has made some disturbing allegations, claiming that the accused had previously raped him by promising him a job in Mumbai. They also stated that three of the minor’s friends had raped him, and that the accused had given the minor an intoxicant before assaulting him while he was unconscious.
This horrific incident is a stark reminder of the need for increased awareness and protection for children from sexual offenses. In a separate case, a special POCSO court in Mumbai sentenced a 30-year-old man to 10 years in prison for raping a minor boy in 2015. The court also imposed a fine of ₹20,000 on the convict, noting that the incident would leave a lasting scar on the victim’s mind and affect his ability to live a normal life.
These cases highlight the importance of addressing the issue of child sexual abuse and ensuring that perpetrators are held accountable for their actions. It is essential that we create a safe and supportive environment for victims to come forward and report such incidents, and that we work towards preventing such atrocities from occurring in the first place.
