On Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed enhanced arrangements for the expected 8-10 crore devotees at the Sangam during the Maha Kumbh on Mauni Amavasya, scheduled for 29th January.
In a high-level review meeting with senior officials, CM Adityanath assessed the turnout of over 6 crore devotees during the Paush Purnima and Makar Sankranti festivals at the Maha Kumbh, and emphasized the need for stronger preparations for the upcoming event.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to liaise with the Railways to ensure the smooth operation of special Maha Kumbh trains. He highlighted the necessity of both regular and special trains running continuously, with increased frequency, to manage the large number of devotees.
Additionally, CM Adityanath stressed the importance of strengthening the mobile network in the fair area. He also called for the uninterrupted operation of buses, shuttle buses, and electric buses to ensure smooth transportation for the pilgrims.
The Chief Minister further pointed out the need for regular cleaning of toilets, proper barricading of ghats, and a 24×7 supply of electricity and drinking water across all sectors of the Kumbh.
The meeting was attended by key officials including the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, Principal Secretaries of Home and Information, Urban Development, Chairman of the Power Corporation, and the Director of Information.
