PM Modi: India’s Youth Power Key to Achieving Developed Nation Status

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his belief that the strength of India’s youth is key to realizing the dream of a developed nation, during his address at the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025. The event, held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi on National Youth Day, coincided with the 163rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

Addressing an audience of 3,000 youth aged 15 to 29, Modi highlighted the pivotal role young Indians will play in shaping the nation’s future over the next 25 years. He paid tribute to Swami Vivekananda’s faith in the youth of India, sharing, “Swami Ji had immense faith in the youth of India. He believed in their potential to solve every problem. Like Vivekananda Ji believed in you, I believe in him and everything he envisioned for India’s youth.”

Referring to the venue where the G-20 Summit took place in September 2023, Modi said, “In this very place where global leaders discussed the future of the world, the youth of India are now shaping the road map for the next 25 years. It is my great fortune to be here with you.”

The Prime Minister also recalled an interaction with young athletes in September 2024, where one athlete humorously referred to him as “param mitra” (best friend), a title that highlighted the bond between India’s youth and its leadership.

Emphasizing his trust in the nation’s young people, Modi stated, “I firmly believe that with the strength of India’s youth, the dream of a developed nation is achievable. Some may think this is an impossible goal, but I believe otherwise. If the vision of Viksit Bharat guides every decision, step, and policy, no power can stop us from becoming a developed nation. A developed India will be empowered economically, strategically, socially, and culturally.”

During the event, youth leaders presented their views on key areas such as women’s empowerment, sports, culture, startups, and infrastructure. Additionally, the Prime Minister launched a book titled Yuva Shakti’s Vision for Viksit Bharat @ 2047, outlining the roadmap for India’s future.

PM Modi’s address underscored the critical role India’s youth will play in the nation’s development, positioning them as the driving force behind India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.
