Tensions escalated on Sunday evening as protesters vandalized the Hyderabad residence of actor Allu Arjun. The incident took place at his home in Jubilee Hills, with visuals shared by Big TV showing demonstrators holding placards, hurling stones and tomatoes, and damaging flower pots. The protesters, reportedly members of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU JAC), were demanding that the actor compensate the family of the woman who tragically died in a stampede at the Sandhya Theatre during the promotion of Pushpa 2: The Rule.
The protesters are urging Allu Arjun to pay ₹1 crore to the victim’s family. One of them spoke to the channel, saying, “We demand that Allu Arjun take care of Revathi’s family. Many film personalities visited him after his release from jail, but none cared for the woman who lost her life. Now is the time for them to support her family, and we will not leave until our demands are met.”
At the time of the attack, Allu Arjun and his family were at home. His children, Arha and Ayaan, were promptly taken by staff to their maternal uncle’s house for safety. Reports also indicate that protesters burned an effigy of the actor, though further details are yet to emerge.
This protest follows the tragic stampede incident on December 4 when Allu Arjun visited the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad with co-star Rashmika Mandanna. His visit led to a chaotic situation, resulting in the death of Revathi and the hospitalization of her young son in critical condition. Arjun was arrested on December 13 and released on bail the following day after the High Court granted interim relief.
Following his release, several prominent film personalities, including Vijay Deverakonda, Venkatesh, Rana Daggubati, and Naga Chaitanya, visited the actor. However, fresh allegations have emerged from Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, who claims that Allu Arjun was informed of Revathi’s death during his time at the theater. The police have supported this claim, but the actor maintains that he only learned of the tragic event the following day.
