PV Sindhu Set To Get Married On December 22 – Everything You Need To Know

Date:

Ace badminton player PV Sindhu is set to marry Venkata Datta Sai, an executive director at Posidex Technologies, on December 22 in Udaipur. The two families, who have known each other for some time, finalized the wedding plans just a month ago. According to Sindhu’s father, PV Ramana, the December 22 date was chosen to accommodate Sindhu’s tight schedule, as she will be preparing for a busy year ahead.“

The two families knew each other, but everything was finalized only a month ago. This was the only possible window as Sindhu’s schedule will be hectic from January,” said Ramana. He further explained that the couple had decided to hold the reception in Hyderabad on December 24, followed by Sindhu’s immediate return to training for the upcoming season.

Wedding events for the two-time Olympic medallist will commence on December 20, leading up to the grand ceremony on December 22.

Sindhu to Continue Her Badminton Career

Despite her upcoming wedding, Sindhu, 29, affirmed that she plans to continue competing professionally for the next few years. She is also eyeing the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. In a recent interview, Sindhu said that her victory at the Syed Modi International badminton tournament has boosted her confidence. She defeated China’s Wu Luo Yu 21-14, 21-16 in the final, marking her third win in this event, having previously triumphed in 2017 and 2022.“

Winning this tournament gives me a lot of confidence. At 29, I have the advantage of experience. Being smart and experienced is key, and I’m definitely going to keep playing for the next couple of years,” she shared.

Sindhu also confirmed her participation in upcoming tournaments in Malaysia, India, Indonesia, and Thailand. However, she emphasized the importance of being selective in choosing which tournaments to play.

A Decorated Career

Sindhu is widely regarded as one of India’s greatest athletes, with an impressive career spanning multiple international titles. Her accolades include five world championship medals, including a gold in 2019, and two Olympic medals—silver in Rio 2016 and bronze in Tokyo 2020. She also achieved a career-high world ranking of No. 2 in 2017.

As she embarks on this new chapter in her personal life, Sindhu’s commitment to her career remains steadfast, and fans can expect her to continue making strides in the sport in the coming years.
