LG Manoj Sinha Orders Action Against ‘Terror Groups’ Following Srinagar Grenade Attack

Date:

In the wake of a grenade attack in Srinagar that injured 12 civilians, Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has called for a decisive response from security forces. He emphasized the need to “crush” terrorist organizations operating in the region during a discussion with DGP Nalin Prabhat and senior security officials.

Sinha condemned the attack, which targeted a CRPF bunker near a busy flea market, and stated that those who harm civilians would face severe consequences. He granted security forces full authority to take aggressive action against terror groups, urging them to leave no stone unturned in their efforts.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also condemned the attack, asserting that there is no justification for targeting innocent civilians. He expressed deep concern over the recent surge in violence, including the grenade incident, and urged the security apparatus to take all necessary measures to restore safety and normalcy for the public.

The grenade attack follows the killing of a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander in an encounter in the Khanyar area, highlighting ongoing tensions in the region. Abdullah called for immediate action to curb the recent wave of attacks, ensuring that residents can live without fear.
