In the 115th episode of his radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation, marking a decade of the popular show. During his address, he highlighted pressing concerns about digital arrests and cyber fraud, while also celebrating the contributions of national figures like Sardar Patel and Birsa Munda.
Addressing Digital Security Concerns
Amid rising incidents of digital fraud, particularly cases involving fraudulent calls claiming to be from law enforcement agencies, PM Modi reassured citizens not to panic. He emphasized the need for vigilance and outlined three essential steps for enhancing digital security.
The Prime Minister explained that these fraudsters often impersonate officials from organizations such as the Police, CBI, and RBI, using high-pressure tactics to create a sense of urgency. He urged citizens to remember that legitimate investigative agencies do not conduct inquiries through phone calls or video calls. Instead, he advocated for a proactive approach with the mantra: “Stop, Think, and Take Action” when faced with suspicious calls.
Celebrating National Icons
In addition to addressing digital security, PM Modi reflected on the importance of unity and remembrance in celebrating the 150th anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the legacy of Birsa Munda. He expressed his commitment to honoring their contributions to the nation, stating, “The country has decided to celebrate their 150th birth anniversary at the national level.”
He shared personal experiences from his visit to Ulihatu village in Jharkhand, the birthplace of Birsa Munda, and described the profound impact it had on him. As the first Prime Minister to visit this sacred site, he emphasized the need to recognize the enduring vision of these leaders for a unified India.
Promoting India’s Animation Industry
Furthermore, PM Modi highlighted the potential of India’s burgeoning animation industry, calling it a catalyst for growth across various sectors. He remarked on the omnipresence of animation in today’s technology-driven world, from smartphones to gaming consoles and virtual reality. In anticipation of World Animation Day on October 28, he encouraged a collective effort to position India as a global animation powerhouse.
The Prime Minister’s address underscored his ongoing commitment to addressing contemporary challenges while celebrating the nation’s heritage and aspirations. As India navigates the digital landscape, his call for vigilance and proactive measures stands as a crucial reminder for citizens to safeguard their security in an increasingly complex world.
