Maharashtra: MNS releases first list of 45 candidates, with Amit Thackeray contesting from Mahim

Date:

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s faction of Shiv Sena has released its first list of 45 candidates for the upcoming assembly elections, scheduled for November 20.

Among the notable candidates is Sandeep Deshpande, who will contest from the Worli constituency in south-central Mumbai, likely facing off against Aaditya Thackeray of the Shiv Sena (UBT).

Shinde announced the candidate list on X (formerly Twitter), emphasizing the backing of the party’s founders, Balasaheb Thackeray and Dharmaveer Anand Dighe.

Additionally, Pramod Patil, the sole MNS MLA in the outgoing assembly, has been renominated for the Kalyan rural seat in Thane district. Raj Thackeray’s son, Amit Thackeray, will also make his electoral debut, contesting from the Mahim constituency in Mumbai.

This announcement marks a significant step as the party gears up for the critical assembly polls.
