A devastating incident occurred in Ashapuri Colony, Bulandshahr, on Monday night when the roof of a house collapsed after a cylinder explosion. Five family members were killed as they were buried under the rubble.
Rescue operations are currently underway, with fears that additional victims, including women and children, may be trapped beneath the debris. Local police and fire brigade teams are on-site, supported by community volunteers to facilitate the rescue efforts.
The explosion happened on Gulavathi Road, leading to the complete collapse of the structure. Neighbors promptly alerted the Secunderabad police station, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement and emergency services.
Senior officials, including the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), City Superintendent of Police, and Circle Officer, arrived to oversee the operation. A JCB machine was deployed to assist in debris removal.
As of now, five bodies have been recovered, and officials remain concerned about the possibility of more victims being trapped. Bulandshahr District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh visited the scene to monitor the situation and directed teams to expedite rescue efforts, emphasizing the urgency of locating those still buried under the rubble.
