Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP Harnath Singh Yadav has urged Bollywood actor Salman Khan to issue an apology to the Bishnoi community for past actions related to a blackbuck incident that occurred over 20 years ago. Yadav’s comments come in the wake of the recent murder of Baba Siddique, a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Khan’s longtime friend, who was allegedly shot by members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Harnath Yadav accused Salman Khan of killing, cooking, and eating a blackbuck, which holds significant religious importance for the Bishnoi community. He stated, “Dear Salman Khan, the Bishnoi community worships the blackbuck and considers it a deity. You hunted it, cooked it, and ate it. Because of this, the sentiments of the Bishnoi community were hurt, leading to anger against you.”
Yadav emphasized that everyone makes mistakes and urged Khan, as a beloved figure in Indian cinema, to respect the feelings of the Bishnoi community and apologize for his past actions.

The incident surrounding Baba Siddique’s murder took place on October 12, when he was shot multiple times by three assailants linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai but succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter. Following the murder, the gang claimed responsibility and issued a warning to Salman Khan, prompting heightened security measures for the actor, who has been avoiding visitors at his residence.
Siddique had a close relationship with Salman Khan and had received threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which had increased his security just 15 days before his death. This gang was also reportedly involved in a firing incident outside Khan’s apartment in Bandra in April, which included death threats against Khan’s father, Salim Khan.
The situation continues to unfold, raising concerns about the safety of public figures in the wake of gang-related violence.
