But in the year 2018, Enforcement Directorate or ED had seized assets worth Rs 462 crore belonging to Siddiqui. ED had seized 33 flats worth around Rs 462 crore from Siddiqui and Pyramid Developers in Mumbai. In the year 1992, he was elected councilor of Mumbai Municipal Corporation for the first time.In 1999, he again became Congress MLA from Bandra West constituency. After this, he was elected from the same seat in 2004 and 2009 also. He was also a minister in the Maharashtra government.
