The Union Cabinet has approved a productivity-linked bonus of 78 days, amounting to ₹2,028.57 crore, for over 11.72 lakh railway employees, as announced by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on October 3, 2024.
This bonus will be distributed among various categories of railway staff, including track maintainers, loco pilots, train managers (guards), station masters, supervisors, technicians, technician helpers, pointsmen, ministerial staff, and other Group C and D employees.
The productivity-linked bonus is designed to serve as an incentive, encouraging railway employees to enhance the overall performance of the railways. This move aims to acknowledge and reward the hard work of the staff while fostering a culture of productivity and efficiency within the railway sector.
