Yogi Cabinet Presents Gifts to Farmers and Youth; 25 Proposals Approved

An important cabinet meeting was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. 25 proposals were approved in today’s meeting. UP Agri project was approved in the meeting. This project covers 28 districts of 8 divisions.Bundelkhand, Vindhya, Devipatan division, Azamgarh division included. The project worth about Rs 4000 crore will be for six years. For this, Rs 2737 crore will be spent by the World Bank and Rs 1166 crore will be spent by the state government.

Through the project, work will be done to increase the productivity and quality of major crops and a market support system will be created. A proposal to create SEZ for the agricultural sector was brought. The purchase policy of maize, jowar and millet has been approved by the Council of Ministers in the meeting.Maize will be purchased at the rate of Rs 2225 quintal, millet at Rs 2625 quintal, jowar hybrid at Rs 3571 quintal. It was told that maize will be procured in 21 districts, millet will be procured in 32 districts and jowar will be procured in 11 districts.The purchasing year will be from 1 October to 31 December.

In the meeting, approval was given for construction of canal system in Duddhi tehsil for Kanar Irrigation Project in Sonbhadra. The second revised cost of Kanhar River Irrigation Project in Sonbhadra was approved.Drinking water facilities will be provided to 53 thousand farmers and 2 lakh people of 108 villages of Duddhi and Obra. Chief Minister Youth Entrepreneur Development Campaign has received the approval of the Council of Ministers, in which the target has been set to connect 1 lakh youth with employment by giving them loans of Rs 5 lakh (without interest) for micro units every year. Margin money will be payable at 15% for general category, 12.5% ​​for backward class and 10% for Scheduled Caste and Tribe. For this, the educational qualification of the applicant has been fixed from 8th to 12th.

The Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Promotion Policy 2024 proposal for the youth of the state has received the approval of the Cabinet.Encouraging foreign higher educational institutions to invest. A proposal of 50% stamp duty exemption for land cost up to Rs 50 crore, 30% up to Rs 150 crore and 20% stamp duty exemption for more than Rs 150 crore was placed before the Cabinet. Special incentives will be given for investment by the first 5 foreign institutions.
