“Rahul Gandhi Criticizes PM Modi’s ‘Monopoly Model,’ for Job Losses and Impact on MSMEs”

Date:

In a sharp attack on the ruling BJP, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claimed that the government operates under a “monopoly model” that has resulted in significant job losses and severely impacted micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). During a discussion with business owners and professionals in Jammu, Gandhi stated, “Modi ji’s monopoly model has taken away jobs and deprived people of opportunity. India deserves better.”

Gandhi highlighted that India possesses a vast skill set, but the dominance of a few large corporations is undermining the job market. He criticized the Modi government for rising unemployment and pointed to policies such as demonetization, import duties, and GST as detrimental to the economy.

“The basic structure of employment is under severe attack from a handful of monopolies,” he said, emphasizing that unlike other countries with large monopolists that produce goods, India’s major players primarily engage in trading. “These monopolists control the political system and are orchestrating a systematic attack on small businesses,” he added.

To counter these issues, Gandhi urged the central government to simplify the GST and enhance banking opportunities for small enterprises to boost employment and revive the job market. He reiterated that the future of India rests not with the government but with its people, asserting, “India is not the government of India; India is ‘you.’”
