Israel-Hezbollah Conflict: Tragic Toll of Israeli Airstrikes in Lebanon, Over 274 Dead, Thousands Displaced

Date:

At least 274 people, including 21 children and 39 women, have been killed in recent Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry. This assault, described as the deadliest since the end of the civil war, has also left more than 1,000 injured. In the wake of ongoing hostilities, tens of thousands are fleeing southern Lebanon.

Lebanese Health Minister Firass Abiad reported that the airstrikes targeted medical facilities, ambulances, and vehicles carrying civilians seeking refuge. Hospitals are now repurposed to treat the wounded, while individuals with chronic illnesses are being relocated to alternative medical centers.

In retaliation, Hezbollah has launched rocket attacks on Israeli military bases, claiming responsibility for strikes against two locations in response to the violence in southern and eastern Lebanon. Prior to this, the group targeted three additional sites.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized that the strikes are focused on dismantling “thousands of rockets and missiles” reportedly concealed by Hezbollah. Since Monday, Israeli forces have executed three waves of airstrikes, hitting over 300 targets across Lebanon, while warning civilians to evacuate areas suspected of housing missile stockpiles.
