Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Croatia on Wednesday, marking the final leg of his three-nation tour and becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the European nation.

PM Modi landed in the Croatian capital Zagreb after wrapping up his visit to Canada, where he participated in the G7 Summit. Upon arrival, he was given a ceremonial welcome, underlining the significance of the historic visit.

During his stay, the Prime Minister will hold bilateral talks with his Croatian counterpart, Andrej Plenković, and is also scheduled to meet President Zoran Milanović. The visit is expected to open new avenues of cooperation in trade, technology, and cultural exchange, significantly enhancing India-Croatia bilateral ties.

This landmark visit also reflects India’s deepening engagement with the European Union, with a focus on strengthening partnerships in key sectors of mutual interest.

Earlier, PM Modi concluded his Canada visit, calling it “productive.” In a post on social media platform X, he wrote:“Concluding a productive Canada visit. Thankful to the Canadian people and Government for hosting a successful G7 Summit, which witnessed fruitful discussions on diverse global issues. We remain committed to furthering global peace, prosperity and sustainability.”

At the G7 Summit held in Kananaskis, PM Modi participated in the Outreach Session and addressed a panel on ‘Energy Security: Diversification, Technology, and Infrastructure to Ensure Access and Affordability in a Changing World’.

In his remarks, the Prime Minister highlighted the critical importance of energy security, emphasizing India’s four-fold approach: availability, accessibility, affordability, and acceptability. He reiterated India’s commitment to inclusive growth and underlined its leadership in climate action.

He also spotlighted India’s early achievement of its Paris Agreement targets and reaffirmed the country’s dedication to a green and sustainable future. Initiatives like the International Solar Alliance, Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, Global Biofuels Alliance, Mission LiFE, and One Sun-One World-One Grid were highlighted as key global efforts led by India.

As PM Modi’s visit to Croatia unfolds, it is expected to further cement India’s growing global outreach and reinforce its vision for sustainable international cooperation.
