In a devastating road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district early Wednesday morning, five members of a Delhi-based family including a two-year-old child lost their lives after their car overturned and caught fire. One woman survived the crash with injuries.

According to the police, the accident took place between 5:15 am and 5:30 am near the Chandauka roundabout on the Anupshahr bridge, when the family’s CNG-powered Swift car allegedly hit a road divider, overturned, and burst into flames.

Victims Identified

The deceased have been identified as:

1. Tanveez Ahmad

2. Nida (14)

3. Momina (24)

4. Zainul (2)

5. Zubair Ali

All were residents of Delhi’s Malviya Nagar, confirmed Mahendra Tripathi, Station House Officer (SHO) of Jahangirabad police station.

One Survivor Out of Danger

The only survivor, a woman named Gulnaaz, was rushed to the Community Health Centre in Jahangirabad before being referred to Bulandshahr District Hospital. She is currently out of danger, SHO Tripathi confirmed.

Returning from a Wedding

As per Ramkaran, Circle Officer, Anupshahr, the family of six was returning from a wedding in Chamanpura village, Badaun district, when the crash occurred. “Initial investigation suggests the driver may have dozed off due to fatigue,” he said.“

There was minimal traffic on the road at that hour. A local resident alerted the police, and a team immediately reached the spot,” added the officer.

Probe Underway

SHO Tripathi noted that the CNG-powered vehicle caught fire shortly after overturning. “We are investigating the exact cause of the fire,” he said, adding that all bodies have been sent for post-mortem and the families have been informed.
