In a shocking incident, a government school teacher from Rajasthan was arrested after allegedly attempting to bribe Education Minister Madan Dilawar with ₹5,000 during a public hearing at the minister’s residence in Jaipur.
The accused, Chandrakant Vaishnav, a Grade III teacher posted at Government Upper Primary School Budha in Banswara district’s Ghatol block, had reportedly sought inclusion in the school curriculum committee under the Rajasthan State Educational Research and Training Council (RSCERT).
Bribe Offered in Sweet Box
The incident took place on Monday morning at Minister Dilawar’s Civil Lines residence during a scheduled public hearing. Vaishnav approached the minister with a written petition, an envelope, and a box of sweets. According to officials, the envelope, which was initially believed to contain a recommendation letter, had ₹5,000 in cash hidden inside.

Minister Alerts Police
Minister Dilawar stated that he was unaware of the contents until his photographer, Bharat, noticed the cash inside the envelope. The minister, who had to leave for Ramgarh Dam soon after, ensured that Vaishnav stayed back. He immediately informed the local police, who arrived at the scene and took the teacher in for questioning.”
Most Shocking Experience in My Political Career”Speaking to the media, Minister Dilawar condemned the act, calling it “the worst experience” of his 35–36 year-long political career.“
People should not think that the Education Minister can be bribed. I reported the matter to the police immediately. It’s deeply saddening and shocking,” he said.
Police investigations are currently underway to determine further motives and connections. Authorities have confirmed that appropriate legal action will follow.
