The much-anticipated victory parade for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has been officially cancelled, Bengaluru Police confirmed on Tuesday afternoon. The decision was made just hours before the team’s scheduled arrival in the city following their historic first-ever IPL title win in Ahmedabad.

Felicitation Ceremony to Replace Roadshow

Initially planned as an open-top bus parade from Vidhana Soudha to M Chinnaswamy Stadium, the public celebration was called off due to logistical and security concerns. Instead, the IPL 2025 champions will be honoured in a felicitation ceremony at Chinnaswamy Stadium between 5 PM and 6 PM.

Entry to the event will be restricted to ticket holders only, as per the police advisory.

Traffic Restrictions and Public Advisory

Authorities have issued a public advisory in Kannada and English, requesting citizens to avoid roads in and around Vidhana Soudha and Chinnaswamy Stadium between 3 PM and 8 PM due to expected traffic congestion and large crowds.

The decision to cancel the parade was influenced by limited parking in the Central Business District (CBD) and the challenge of managing large crowds safely.

The city’s civic and traffic departments are working in coordination to manage the situation, and commuters are strongly encouraged to use Metro services or other public transportation during the evening hours.

RCB’s Schedule in Bengaluru

The RCB squad departed from Ahmedabad at 10 AM and is expected to land at HAL Airport by 1:30 PM. Upon arrival, the team will head to Vidhana Soudha to meet Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah around 4 PM, before making their way to the stadium for the celebration.

Fans Disappointed, but Festivities Continue

While the cancellation of the parade has disappointed many fans hoping to celebrate RCB’s long-awaited triumph in the streets, officials have assured that tight security and festive arrangements are in place at the stadium to honour the team’s historic IPL title win after 18 years.
