Soldier killed in Encounter with Terrorists in Kishtwar, J&K

A soldier lost his life in a fierce encounter with terrorists during a cordon and search operation in the Shingpora area of Chhatru, Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Thursday morning, officials confirmed.

The operation was launched based on intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the region. According to the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps, contact was established with the terrorists during the joint operation with the Jammu and Kashmir Police.”

During the ongoing operation, a fierce exchange of fire took place. One of our bravehearts sustained grievous injuries and, despite best medical efforts, succumbed to them,” the Corps stated on social media platform X.

Sources indicate that four terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area. Additional reinforcements have been deployed, and the operation is still underway to neutralize the militants.
