PM Modi Visits Adampur Air Base After Ceasefire

A day after addressing the nation on the success of Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a surprise visit to the Adampur Air Force Station in Punjab early Tuesday morning. During his visit, he met and interacted with Indian Air Force personnel and soldiers, praising their courage and dedication in defending the nation.

In a post shared on his official X handle, PM Modi wrote,

“Earlier this morning, I went to AFS Adampur and met our brave air warriors and soldiers. It was a very special experience to be with those who epitomise courage, determination and fearlessness. India is eternally grateful to our armed forces for everything they do for our nation.”

Tribute to Courageous Air Warriors

The visit comes just days after Adampur was identified as one of the Indian Air Force stations targeted during a wave of attempted intrusions and attacks from Pakistan. Wing Commander Vyomika Singh revealed during a recent briefing that over 26 locations ranging from Srinagar to Naliya in Gujarat faced harassment attacks. Limited damage was reported at IAF stations in Udhampur, Pathankot, Adampur, and Bhuj, but the armed forces successfully neutralized most of the threats.

In his national address on May 12, PM Modi strongly reaffirmed India’s stand against terrorism and praised the armed forces, intelligence agencies, and scientists for their role in the operation.

I salute the valiant forces of India. With Operation Sindoor, we have redefined the fight against terror and established a new normal,” he said.

Context: Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam Attack

The military offensive, launched on May 7, was a direct response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists. The Indian armed forces carried out precision strikes on nine terrorist infrastructure sites belonging to banned outfits like Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen. Of the nine targets, four were in Pakistan and five in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Key Terror Sites Targeted by Indian Forces

1. Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur

2. Sarjal at Tehra Kalan

3. Markaz Abbas in Kotli

4. Syedna Bilal camp in Muzaffarabad

Modi’s National Address on India’s Stand Against Terrorism

The Prime Minister emphasized that India’s actions were a calculated response to terrorism and that the ceasefire agreement reached on May 10 was initiated by Pakistan.

“We have only paused retaliation against terrorist and military bases, not ended it. Every step by Pakistan will be tested,” he declared.

Reiterating India’s firm position, PM Modi stated:

“Terror and talks cannot go together. Terror and trade cannot go hand-in-hand… water and blood cannot flow together.”

He also made it clear that any future dialogue with Pakistan would only concern Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), underlining India’s evolving and assertive security doctrine.
