Tensions flared along the International Border and Line of Control (LoC) on Saturday as Pakistan violated the recently reaffirmed ceasefire agreement, targeting multiple sectors in the Jammu region with artillery shelling.

Multiple Ceasefire Violations in Jammu Hours After Truce

According to official sources, the Pakistan Army opened fire along the International Border in Akhnoor, Rajouri, and RS Pura sectors. Simultaneously, ceasefire violations were reported from the Palanwalla sector along the LoC in Jammu.

Explosions in Baramulla, UAV Activity Confirmed

Explosions were also heard in Baramulla, raising concerns about a potential escalation. In a related development, a drone was reportedly shot down, and sightings of a suspicious Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) were noted in Baramulla and Rajouri. An air raid siren was also activated in the Samba district as a precautionary measure.

The Border Security Force (BSF) has been placed on high alert and instructed to respond decisively to any further provocations, officials confirmed.

Renewed Violence Raises Questions Over Ceasefire Agreement

This renewed hostility comes just hours after both India and Pakistan had agreed to uphold the 2021 ceasefire understanding, raising fresh concerns about stability along the volatile border regions.
