A brutal terrorist attack in the Baisaran meadow near the tourist town of Pahalgam on Tuesday left 26 people dead, triggering widespread international condemnation and global solidarity with India.
The attack, which targeted tourists in one of Jammu and Kashmir’s most picturesque areas, sent shockwaves around the world. Leaders from the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Israel, Iran, Italy, the UAE, and several other countries have strongly condemned the attack and expressed their support for India in its fight against terrorism.

Trump Expresses Solidarity with India
Former U.S. President Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to express deep sympathy. He also held a phone call with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, assuring him of full U.S. support in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
> “Deeply disturbing news out of Kashmir. The United States stands strong with India against terrorism. We pray for the souls of those lost and for the recovery of the injured. Prime Minister Modi, and the incredible people of India, have our full support and deepest sympathies,” Trump stated.U.S.
Vice President JD Vance Shares Condolences
During his ongoing visit to India, U.S. Vice President JD Vance also conveyed his grief over the attack. Posting on X, he said:
> “Usha and I extend our condolences to the victims of the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of India as they mourn this horrific attack.”
Global Condemnation and Support
Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences and reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to strengthening counter-terrorism cooperation with India.
> “There can be no justification for this brutal crime. We expect that its perpetrators will be duly punished,” said a statement from the Russian Embassy quoting Putin.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the attack as “utterly devastating,” saying his thoughts were with those affected and the people of India.
Leaders from other countries also echoed similar sentiments:
UAE: Strongly condemned the “criminal acts” and reaffirmed its rejection of violence and terrorism.
Italy’s PM Giorgia Meloni: Expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with India.

Iranian Embassy in India: Condemned the attack and extended condolences to the victims’ families.
France’s Ambassador Thierry Mathou: Reiterated France’s support to India in the fight against terrorism.
Israel’s Ambassador Reuven Azar: Offered condolences and backed Indian security forces in their efforts.
India Responds
In the immediate aftermath of the attack, Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Srinagar to assess the security situation. Reports indicate he went directly to Raj Bhavan from the airport to chair a high-level review meeting with local security and administration officials.
The attack has intensified calls for stronger global collaboration against terrorism, as India mourns yet another tragic loss of innocent lives.
