Deoria, Uttar Pradesh – In a chilling case of betrayal and murder, Deoria police have uncovered a gruesome crime in which a woman, along with her lover and his friend, allegedly killed her husband and stuffed his body into a suitcase before dumping it in a field nearly 60 km away.
The body of Naushad (30), a migrant worker who had returned home from the Gulf just a week ago, was found in a trolley suitcase in Pakari Chhapar Patkhauli village on Sunday. Locals who spotted the abandoned suitcase alerted the police, leading to a full-scale investigation.
According to police, the suitcase carried a clue — an address that led investigators to Naushad’s home. Upon questioning, his wife Razia Sultana (30) confessed to the murder, revealing that she conspired with her husband’s nephew, Roman (27), with whom she was having an affair. Roman’s friend, Himanshu, also allegedly helped execute the crime.“
Razia admitted during interrogation that she saw Naushad as an obstacle to her relationship with Roman. The three of them killed him using a sharp weapon, packed the body into a suitcase, and transported it in an SUV before dumping it in an agricultural field,” said Deoria SP Vikrant Vir.
The police have recovered the murder weapon and arrested Razia. Roman and Himanshu, both drivers by profession, are currently absconding, and a manhunt is underway to nab them.
Naushad’s family is devastated. His sister Nisha said the victim had been working in the Middle East to support his family financially and had recently built a home for his father, wife, and daughter. “My sister-in-law and nephew betrayed him. He returned with two suitcases — one of them ended up carrying his dead body. We demand the harshest punishment for them,” she said.
Authorities say Naushad was suspicious of Roman and had frequent arguments with Razia about him. That growing tension may have led to the deadly plot.
A case has been registered based on the family’s complaint, and police assure that justice will be delivered soon.
