A horrific incident of rape and murder has shaken the residents of Durg city in Chhattisgarh. A 6-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and killed by her 24-year-old uncle, who then placed her body inside a car.

The incident occurred on Sunday, April 6, during the Navratri festival. The victim had gone to her grandmother’s house for a function, where the accused was alone. He allegedly assaulted the child, killed her, and then placed her body inside a neighbor’s car, which was parked nearby with an unlocked door.

The police had initially detained three suspects, including the car owner and the girl’s uncle, for questioning. During the probe, the uncle’s involvement surfaced, and he was arrested. A case has been registered against him on charges of rape, murder, kidnapping, and others.

The incident sparked widespread outrage, with locals vandalizing the car and setting it on fire. The police brought the situation under control and doused the flames. The girl’s relatives also protested outside the police station with her body, demanding justice.

The medical report confirmed that the girl had been sexually assaulted. The police are investigating the matter further, and the accused is facing charges of rape and murder.

Durg Additional Superintendent of Police Sukhnandan Rathore said the police are taking the case seriously and ensuring justice for the victim and her family. The accused is currently in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
