Ram Navami, marking the birth of Lord Rama, is being celebrated today with great religious fervor and enthusiasm across India. The festival, observed on the ninth day of the Chaitra month, also follows the nine-day fasting period of Navratri. Devotees from all over the world are participating in the festivities, particularly in Ayodhya, where special arrangements have been made for a smooth and memorable experience.

President Droupadi Murmu extended her heartfelt wishes to the nation on this sacred occasion. In a social media post, she highlighted the core values of religion, justice, and duty, as symbolized by Lord Rama, and the concept of Ram Rajya, an ideal governance model based on justice, welfare, and prosperity. She urged the citizens to work towards the development of a stronger, prosperous India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted the nation, emphasizing that the blessings of Lord Shri Ram will guide everyone in their endeavors. He expressed his anticipation for his visit to Rameswaram later today.

In Ayodhya, devotees have gathered in large numbers to celebrate the birth of Lord Shri Ram. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has ensured proper arrangements, including the decoration of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple with special flowers. A key highlight will be the offering of 56 bhog to Ramlala and a special Surya Tilak ceremony at noon, which will be broadcast live across the world. Water from the Saryu River will be sprinkled on devotees using drones, and a Deepotsav will take place in the evening.

Temporary camps and drinking water facilities have been set up along Rampath to protect the devotees from the heat, while strict security measures are in place. Special passes for the Ram Mandir have been canceled between 9:00 am and 12:00 noon for smoother access.

In Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also extended their warm greetings to the people. The Lieutenant Governor praised Lord Ram as a symbol of righteousness, justice, and compassion and hoped the occasion would inspire everyone to follow his ideals. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah emphasized that Lord Ram’s virtues of humility, justice, and moral values continue to influence and rule the hearts of people.

The celebration of Ram Navami today brings people together, honoring the ideals of Lord Rama and the principles of a just, compassionate, and prosperous society.
