In a chilling incident in Bihar’s Aurangabad district, a 65-year-old man was allegedly murdered and his torso set ablaze as part of a black magic ritual. The victim, identified as Yugual Yadav, was reportedly beheaded and his remains burnt in a ‘Holika Dahan’ fire, a traditional event that typically involves the burning of effigies. Police have arrested four individuals, including a relative of a ‘tantric’, in connection with the gruesome crime, though the tantric, who allegedly performed the ritual, remains at large.

The Incident and Investigation

On March 13, the police received a missing person’s complaint about Yugual Yadav, a resident of Gulab Bigha village in the Madanpur police station area. The authorities immediately registered a case and set up a special investigation team (SIT) to trace the whereabouts of Yadav. During the investigation, the team uncovered disturbing information related to a Holika Dahan fire in a nearby village, Banger.

Officials were alerted to the discovery of human bones among the ashes of the fire. After inspecting the site, police confirmed the presence of charred human remains and Yadav’s slippers, which led them to suspect foul play. A dog squad was deployed to help trace the investigation further.

The canine unit led investigators to the house of a tantric, Ramashish Rikyasan, in the nearby village. While Rikyasan was not present at the time, his relative, Dharmendra, was apprehended by the police. Dharmendra reportedly gave conflicting statements regarding the whereabouts of Rikyasan, raising suspicions.

Confession and Arrests

After intense questioning, Dharmendra confessed to the gruesome details of the crime. He admitted that he, along with others, had kidnapped Yugal Yadav and beheaded him as part of a black magic ritual. The group then burned Yugal’s torso in the Holika Dahan fire. Acting on Dharmendra’s confession, police were able to recover Yugal’s severed head from a nearby field.

Further interrogation revealed that the ritual had been conducted by Ramashish Rikyasan on behalf of a local man, Sudhir Paswan, who was reportedly seeking to have a child. Additionally, Dharmendra disclosed that the group had previously sacrificed a teenager, whose body had been disposed of in a well in the same locality.

Additional Arrests and Ongoing Investigation

Police have arrested four individuals in connection with the horrific ritualistic murder, including Sudhir Paswan, Dharmendra, and two other accomplices. A minor boy has also been taken into custody for his involvement. The police have seized the weapon used in the crime and have sent the recovered human remains for scientific testing, including DNA analysis, to confirm the identity of the victim.

The Aurangabad Superintendent of Police (SP), Ambrish Rahul, confirmed that a manhunt has been launched to capture tantric Ramashish Rikyasan, who is currently absconding.”

This is a horrifying case of black magic and human sacrifice. We are working to ensure that all those responsible are brought to justice,” said SP Ambrish Rahul.

This horrifying case has raised serious concerns about the prevalence of such rituals and the dark undercurrents of superstition that continue to affect parts of rural India. The authorities are taking immediate action to prevent further incidents and to ensure the perpetrators face the full extent of the law.
