Comedian Samay Raina has responded to the ongoing controversy surrounding the YouTube show India’s Got Latent, following the vulgar remarks made by YouTube celebrity Ranveer Allahbadia. In his first statement on the issue, Raina announced that he has removed all videos related to the show from his YouTube channel.

Raina, known for his popular YouTube show, expressed that the controversy has become overwhelming for him. “Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle,” he wrote on social media platform X. The comedian emphasized that his sole intent behind the show was to bring laughter and entertainment to his audience, and that he had no intentions of causing harm.

Raina also stated that he would fully cooperate with the authorities investigating the matter. “I have removed all India’s Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you,” he concluded his message.

The controversy erupted after Ranveer Allahbadia, a popular YouTuber and one of the guests on the show, made objectionable and vulgar remarks during an episode. These comments sparked widespread outrage and led to a formal investigation. The Maharashtra Cyber Department has filed a First Information Report (FIR) in connection with the offensive remarks, which were deemed to have violated sections of the Information Technology Act.

As part of the investigation, the police have summoned more than 40 individuals, including both Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina, to participate in the inquiry. Authorities have issued notices to these individuals, instructing them to join the ongoing probe. Although some of those summoned have yet to appear, several lawyers representing the individuals involved have contacted the cyber police, requesting additional time to respond.

The police investigation also includes an inquiry into the show’s producers. The Maharashtra Cyber Department has directed them to take down all 18 episodes of India’s Got Latent from social media platforms. Preliminary investigations revealed that several episodes of the show featured participants using vulgar and obscene language, which has now become a key point in the probe.

In response to a complaint filed by a local BJP functionary, the Khar police station has recorded the statements of several individuals connected to the case. Among them are social media influencer Apoorva Makhija and Allahbadia’s manager, who are being questioned as part of the investigation into the controversial remarks made on the show.

This incident has drawn significant attention to the show and its content, with many calling for stricter regulations on online content to ensure it aligns with community standards. As the investigation continues, more details are expected to emerge regarding the involvement of the key individuals and the producers of the show.
