After the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a historic victory in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured that the party’s new government would guarantee the all-round development of the national capital. This victory marked the BJP’s return to power in Delhi after more than 26 years, with a decisive mandate.

Celebrations erupted outside the BJP headquarters in Delhi as the latest trends showed the saffron party’s commanding lead. Supporters danced to the beats of ‘dhol’ and waved party flags, creating a festive atmosphere across the capital.
In the high-profile New Delhi seat, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal lost to BJP’s Parvesh Verma by over 3,000 votes. Former deputy CM and senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia conceded defeat in Jangpura and expressed hope that the new BJP government would work for the welfare of the area’s residents. “I extend my congratulations to the winning candidate and hope they focus on the progress and welfare of Jangpura,” he said.
In Kalkaji, AAP’s Atishi emerged victorious against BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri, according to Election Commission data. Bidhuri, however, expressed confidence in BJP’s overall victory, stating that under PM Modi’s leadership, Delhi would progress alongside the nation. He also predicted that AAP would soon be eliminated from the national capital.
In Mustafabad, BJP’s Mohan Singh Bisht led by 33,164 votes, while in Okhla, AAP’s Amantullah Khan maintained a lead of 15,178 votes. AAP’s Saurabh Bharadwaj trailed by 3,646 votes in Greater Kailash, while his colleague in the Delhi Cabinet, Gopal Rai, led by 27,148 votes in Babarpur.
BJP’s Kapil Mishra was ahead by over 46,000 votes in the Karawal Nagar seat. In Ballimaran, AAP’s Imran Hussain led by 29,823 votes. Other BJP candidates such as Sanjay Goel (Shahdara), Chandan Chaudhary (Sangam Vihar), Bajrang Shukla (Kirari), and Kartar Singh Tanwar (Chhatarpur) were also ahead in their respective constituencies.
AAP’s Durgesh Pathak (Rajinder Nagar), Anjana Parcha (Trilokpuri), and Veer Singh Dhingan (Seemapuri) led in their constituencies.
With the trends showing a significant lead for the BJP, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva declared that the next Chief Minister of Delhi would be from the saffron party. “The results so far align with our expectations, but we will wait for the final outcome,” he said after offering prayers at the Hanuman temple in Connaught Place.
BJP supporters continued their celebrations outside the party’s headquarters, waving flags, dancing, and joyfully marking the party’s victory with saffron powder.
