Amit Shah Slams AAP, Calls for Delhi to “Sweep” Party Out in Upcoming Elections

In a charged rally held in Mustafabad on Saturday, Union Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), urging the people of Delhi to “sweep AAP out with a broom” in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Shah, known for his sharp rhetoric, used the occasion to brand the Arvind Kejriwal-led government as a “3G” regime, with each ‘G’ representing a different charge against the ruling party.

The “3G” accusation, according to Shah, refers to a government marked by corruption, sheltering illegal immigrants, and indulging in various scams. He described the AAP government as a “ghotale wali sarkar” (government involved in scams), “ghuspaithiyon ko panaah dene wali sarkar” (government sheltering intruders), and “ghaple karne wali sarkar” (government engaged in corruption). Shah particularly emphasized the issue of illegal immigrants in the city, a matter that has sparked controversy in Delhi politics.

Addressing a large gathering, Shah claimed that AAP leaders were fully aware of the “wave” against their party, and that the people of Delhi had already decided to reject the party in the polls. “People are going to sweep AAP out with a ‘jhaadu’ (broom),” he remarked, referring to the party’s election symbol, stressing that the 3G government had failed the people of Delhi.

Taking a direct swipe at the leadership of AAP, Shah urged the citizens of Delhi to make a definitive choice between two paths: those who allegedly led the city into riots or those who worked to restore peace. “Don’t be lazy even a bit or else those responsible for the riots will return after getting elected… You have to decide whether you want those who threw Delhi into riots or those who saved it,” Shah asserted.

In a further attempt to rally support for the BJP’s cause, Shah argued that it was time for Delhi to rid itself of “AAP-da” and move towards a stable and secure future under the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party. His fiery speech was intended to stir up emotions ahead of the critical assembly elections, which are scheduled for February 5, with the results set to be declared on February 8.

Meanwhile, the AAP has hit back, accusing the BJP of resorting to violence in the run-up to the election. The party’s MLA, Mohinder Goyal, was reportedly assaulted in Rohini on Saturday, with AAP alleging that the BJP was behind the attack.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reacted strongly to the assault, condemning what he called the BJP’s politics of violence and hooliganism. “Seeing Mohinder Goyal in this condition makes me want to cry. The people of Delhi do not support this politics of hooliganism. The BJP is hooliganism, and the police are protecting them,” Kejriwal said, implying that the ruling party had been encouraging such tactics to intimidate their opponents.

As the election date draws closer, the political temperature in Delhi continues to rise, with both parties engaging in a fierce war of words. With just a few days left until the polls, all eyes are now on the voters of Delhi as they prepare to make their decision. Will they stick with AAP, or will they choose to sweep the party out as Amit Shah has suggested? Only time will tell.
