Three Arrested in Rajasthan for Smuggling 255 Units of Blood

Date:

In a significant development, three individuals were arrested in Rajasthan’s Jaipur district for allegedly smuggling 255 units of blood. The suspects were apprehended during a routine check by Jaipur Rural Police on the outskirts of Jobner, located about 50 kilometers from Jaipur city.

The accused, identified as Shravan Singh, Amin, and Mohammad Jabir, were stopped by officers who grew suspicious of their vehicle, a car transporting the blood units. Upon searching the vehicle, police discovered the large quantity of blood being transported without the necessary legal documentation.

The blood, reportedly being smuggled from a private blood bank in Makrana, was en route to Sawai Madhopur when it was intercepted. The authorities immediately detained the three individuals and handed over the case to the Drug Control Department for further investigation.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the blood units were being illegally transported for unauthorized sale or distribution, violating medical and safety regulations. The police are now exploring further angles to determine the full extent of the illegal operation. Investigators are also working to uncover the individuals or organizations involved in the smuggling ring.

The Jaipur Rural Police have assured that they are taking necessary steps to ensure that the blood racket is dismantled and further inquiries will be made to understand the broader implications of the case. Authorities are also working to identify any health risks associated with the illegal transportation of blood, which could jeopardize the safety of recipients.

This incident has sparked a renewed focus on the regulation of blood banks and the need for stricter oversight to prevent such illegal activities in the future. The police continue to investigate the case, and more arrests could follow as the probe progresses.
