Kapil Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, and Remo D’Souza Receive Death Threats from Pakistan, Granted Security by Mumbai Police

Date:

Four prominent Bollywood celebrities, including actor-comedian Kapil Sharma, actor Rajpal Yadav, choreographer Remo D’Souza, and singer-actress Sugandha Mishra, have reportedly received death threats from Pakistan. Following the alarming messages, an FIR has been lodged in Mumbai, and the police are actively investigating the matter.

The threatening email, sent to the celebrities, warned, “We are monitoring your recent activities and feel it is crucial to bring to your attention a sensitive issue. This is not a publicity stunt or an attempt to harass you, but we urge you to take this message with the utmost seriousness and confidentiality.” The email was signed off by the sender using the name ‘BISHNU.’

The threat came to light on December 14, 2024, when Rajpal Yadav received an email from a person claiming to be ‘Bishnu,’ who threatened harm to Kapil Sharma and his team, allegedly due to their association with Bollywood actor Salman Khan. This prompted Yadav’s wife, Radha Rajpal Yadav, to file a police complaint at Amboli Police Station in Mumbai.

An official case has been registered under Section 351(3) of the Indian Penal Code, which addresses threats of harm. Mumbai Police have assured heightened security for Kapil Sharma and his team. The police traced the IP address of the email to Pakistan and are seeking cooperation from the government to liaise with Pakistani authorities. Authorities have demanded a response from the recipient within eight hours, warning of consequences for both their personal and professional lives if ignored.
