Politicians React Across Party Lines to Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Incident

Date:

Several prominent politicians expressed shock and concern over the attack on actor Saif Ali Khan at his Mumbai residence on Thursday. The 54-year-old actor was injured after an intruder attacked him with a knife at his Bandra home around 2:30 am. He was quickly taken to Lilavati Hospital by his eldest son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, in an auto-rickshaw.

According to hospital officials, Saif Ali Khan sustained six injuries, two of which were deeper, including one near his spine. His representatives described the incident as an “attempted burglary,” while the police confirmed that they have identified the assailant and formed teams to apprehend him.

Political leaders from various parties expressed their concern over the incident and wished the actor a speedy recovery. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee called the attack concerning, while Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed his shock and wished Saif a quick recovery.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi condemned the attack, linking it to previous high-profile incidents, including the shooting outside Salman Khan’s home and the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique. Chaturvedi raised questions about the state of security in Mumbai, particularly in Bandra, a celebrity-heavy area known for its supposed high security. She also criticized the Mumbai Police and Home Minister, suggesting that these incidents were part of a broader attempt to undermine the city’s safety.

Actor and BJP MP Ravi Kishan, who has worked with Saif Ali Khan, expressed his sadness over the incident and praised the Mumbai Police for their swift action. “The culprit will be caught soon. I pray that Saif recovers quickly,” he said.

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari also wished Saif a speedy recovery, stating, “I have been in touch with the family and will speak to Kareena soon. He is a great artist, and I pray that he heals quickly.”

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray condemned the attack as shocking and expressed relief that Saif Ali Khan was stable and recovering. He also questioned the Maharashtra government’s handling of law and order, citing the rise in criminal incidents, including recent hit-and-run cases and threats against actors and politicians. Thackeray criticized the government for its failure to ensure public safety, emphasizing the need for better security measures.

As the investigation continues, political figures across party lines have called for increased security for public figures and a more robust law enforcement response to prevent such incidents in the future.
