The National Testing Agency (NTA) has confirmed that the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2025 will follow a revised set of rules and a new schedule. This announcement comes after controversies surrounding alleged malpractices in the 2024 exam.

The NEET-UG 2025 will be conducted in a pen-and-paper format, utilizing an OMR-based system. The exam will take place on a single day and in a single shift, marking a shift from previous patterns.
NEET-UG remains the key qualifying exam for admission to undergraduate medical programs, including MBBS, BDS, and other related courses. In addition to these, the exam will also serve as the entrance test for programs under the Indian system of medicine, such as BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, and BHMS, in line with the mandates of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, and the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020.
The decision aims to streamline the examination process and ensure fairness and transparency. Candidates are advised to stay updated on further instructions and official notifications from the NTA.
