In a shocking incident, a Delhi doctor was found murdered inside his house on Thursday following an altercation with a 23-year-old dietician. The accused, Sunny Kumar, reportedly went to the residence of Dr. Sambit Mohanty, a physician from Odisha, to deliver a diet subscription. According to the police, during their conversation, Dr. Mohanty allegedly touched Kumar inappropriately, leading to a violent confrontation. In a fit of rage, Kumar strangled the doctor before attacking him with a knife and scissors from the victim’s kitchen.
The police were alerted to the crime after receiving a call about a body found in South Delhi’s Chattarpur Enclave area. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim with a deep cut on his neck and blood scattered across the floor, suggesting a violent struggle. The accused, Sunny Kumar, has been detained for further investigation.
In a separate incident in Gurgaon, a 17-year-old boy was found murdered after being abducted by a group of youths outside a church on January 15. The victim, a Class 12 student, was allegedly beaten to death with sticks and stones near Basai village. The police were alerted after the boy’s father received a phone call around 10:30 pm from someone claiming to be the son’s friend. The caller stated that the boy had been abducted earlier that evening. When attempts to contact the boy failed, a police complaint was filed.
After conducting an investigation, the police found the teenager’s body and apprehended a minor known to the victim in connection with the crime. The case is currently under investigation.
