Date:

On Wednesday, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook experienced significant outages, impacting users worldwide and causing major disruptions to communication and social media activities.

According to outage tracking site Down Detector, over 50,000 Facebook users reported issues, including problems with logging in, posting updates, and uploading content. Instagram faced similar disruptions, with more than 23,000 users unable to access or update posts.

Users across both desktop and mobile platforms struggled to access messages, posts, and updates, with many experiencing slow load times or complete inaccessibility. Issues began surfacing around 10:58 pm, as Facebook users found it difficult to log in, upload posts, and refresh existing content, leaving many unable to engage with the platform.

Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, also encountered widespread issues, with users unable to view or update posts. The app was frequently crashing, compounding the frustrations for users.

WhatsApp, another platform owned by Meta, experienced similar problems, with many users unable to send or receive messages. The Down Detector platform recorded a surge in complaints related to the service disruptions.

As of now, Meta, the parent company of these platforms, has not released an official statement addressing the outages.
