Several of Donald Trump’s incoming cabinet members and political appointees were targeted with violent bomb threats, according to a statement from a spokeswoman for his transition team on Wednesday, November 27. Karoline Leavitt, the spokeswoman, said the threats were made overnight and in the morning, describing them as “unAmerican” acts of intimidation.“
These attacks ranged from bomb threats to ‘swatting,’” Leavitt explained, adding that law enforcement and other authorities responded swiftly to ensure the safety of those targeted. “President Trump and the entire transition team are grateful for their quick action,” she stated.
Leavitt emphasized that despite the threats, President Trump and his team remain focused on uniting the nation and securing a safe and prosperous future for all Americans. “Dangerous acts of intimidation and violence will not deter us,” she asserted.
While Leavitt did not provide specific names of those targeted, the cabinet picks have included prominent figures such as Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, who are set to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and John Ratcliffe, who has been appointed as the director of the CIA. Other notable appointees include Mike Huckabee, who will serve as Ambassador to Israel, Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense, and Tom Homan as Border Czar.
These bomb threats follow a troubling pattern of violence aimed at Trump and his allies. The president-elect himself survived two assassination attempts, one involving Thomas Matthew Crooks, who attacked Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania. The other involved Ryan Wesley Routh, who was arrested at Trump National Golf Club in Florida while carrying an AK-47 and other weapons. Crooks was killed by the Secret Service after wounding Trump and others, while Routh remains in custody.
Despite these violent acts, the transition team’s message remains clear: threats will not disrupt their efforts to move forward with their plans for the nation.
