U.P. Govt. announces Roadshows in India and Abroad to Promote Mahakumbh

Date:

The Uttar Pradesh government has approved plans to organise grand roadshows in major cities across India and abroad to promote the upcoming 2025 Mahakumbh. The decision was made in a cabinet meeting held on Friday, November 22, 2024.

According to State Minister A.K. Sharma, the roadshows in India will be held in cities including New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Dehradun, Bhopal, Chandigarh, and Patna. Internationally, the U.P. government will conduct roadshows in countries such as Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia, and Mauritius, along with other nations.

The roadshows aim to create global awareness and encourage participation in the Mahakumbh, which is scheduled to take place in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26, 2025. These events will be led by state ministers, with support from industry bodies like FICCI and CII.

As part of the preparations, the U.P. government has also sanctioned the purchase of 220 new vehicles, totaling an expenditure of approximately ₹22.48 crore. The fleet includes 40 Mahindra Bolero Neo vehicles, 160 Mahindra Bolero B6 Vs-VI vehicles, and 20 Bus Mobiles with wide chassis. This is in line with the state’s efforts to ensure smooth logistics and transportation for the large-scale event.

With the Mahakumbh just around the corner, the state’s administration is gearing up for one of the largest religious and cultural gatherings in the world.
