Bhopal, Nov 22 (IANS) – The ‘Sanatan Hindu Ekta’ march led by Bageshwar Dham’s head priest, Dhirendra Shastri, is garnering significant attention and support from people across different sections of society, including political figures.
Shastri’s padyatra, which began on Thursday from his Ashram in Chhatarpur district, is set to cover 160 kilometers and conclude at the Ram Raja Temple in Orchha, Tikamgarh district, on November 29.

Notable politicians from both the ruling BJP and the Opposition Congress are joining the march. On its inaugural day, Madhya Pradesh BJP chief and Khajuraho MP, V.D. Sharma, took part, expressing that the yatra will unite the Hindu community.
Congress MLA Jaivardhan Singh, the son of former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh, also joined the padyatra on Friday. Singh, who has been visiting Bageshwar Dham for the past four years to seek Shastri’s blessings, emphasized that his family has always respected saints and followed the path of Sanatan Dharma. He also stated that while religion is a personal matter, he believes in keeping religion and politics separate.
Despite this show of unity, there has been some opposition within the Congress. Senior Congress MLA Phool Singh Baraiya criticized the Bageshwar Dham head, adding a layer of political contrast to the event.
The march continues to attract significant attention, with both public and political figures extending their support.
