Bhojpuri actor Akshara Singh receives death threat, caller demands Rs 50 lakh

Bhojpuri film industry’s leading actress, Akshara Singh, has reportedly received a death threat, with the caller demanding ₹50 lakh in exchange for her safety. The actress filed a formal complaint with the Danapur police station on Wednesday, detailing the incident.

Threat Calls Received by Akshara Singh

According to Bhanu Pratap Singh, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Danapur-1, Akshara Singh received threatening calls from two different phone numbers on Monday. The caller not only abused the actress but also demanded ₹50 lakh, threatening to kill her if the money was not paid within two days. The police have launched an investigation into the matter.

Father of Akshara Singh Speaks Out

Speaking to PTI, Akshara’s father, Bipin Singh, confirmed that his daughter received the threatening calls from two unknown numbers. “The caller was abusive and demanded ₹50 lakh, threatening her life if she did not comply within two days,” Bipin Singh said. He mentioned that the family immediately contacted the local police, and a team from Danapur police station visited their residence on Wednesday to take the written complaint from Akshara.

Investigation Underway

Prashant Bhardwaj, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Danapur police station, confirmed that the complaint had been registered and the case is under investigation. Police are working to trace the callers and identify the perpetrators.
