J&K Terror Attacks: Farooq Abdullah’s remark ‘terrorists shouldn’t be killed…’ sparks anger among Indians

Date:

National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah has urged for a thorough investigation into the recent terror attack in Budgam, expressing concerns about potential motives behind the incident. He suggested that it might be an attempt to destabilize the government in Jammu and Kashmir.“

It should be investigated. How is it that these attacks are occurring after the government has been formed? I suspect it could be orchestrated by those aiming to undermine stability in the region. If the terrorists are captured, we can uncover who is behind these actions. They should be apprehended and interrogated instead of being killed,” Abdullah stated.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta condemned the attack as “cowardly,” particularly occurring during festive celebrations. He attributed the actions to elements working under the influence of Pakistan, calling for identification of individuals involved in such attacks. “This is a cowardly act during a festive occasion. We must identify those who are facilitating these attacks,” he remarked.

The incident involved terrorists opening fire on two non-locals in the Mazhama area of Budgam district. The victims were quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where they are reported to be in stable condition. Following the attack, security forces cordoned off the area in an effort to apprehend the assailants.

In related developments, an encounter took place in Srinagar’s Khanyar area between security forces and terrorists. Additionally, on October 29, security forces neutralized three terrorists in a significant operation in Akhnoor, following an attack on an Army convoy.
