Robbery at Shilpa Shetty’s Restaurant Bastian: Customer’s ₹80 Lakh BMW Stolen

Bollywood star and wellness influencer Shilpa Shetty Kundra faced an unsettling incident at her upscale restaurant, Bastian – At the Top, situated on the 48th floor of Kohinoor Square in Dadar West. On Sunday, a luxurious BMW Z4 convertible, valued at ₹80 lakh, was stolen from the restaurant’s parking lot while a guest dined inside.

The vehicle belonged to Ruhan Firoz Khan, a 34-year-old businessman from Bandra, who arrived at Bastian with two friends around 1 am. Upon arrival, he handed over the keys to the valet service, trusting them to secure his car. However, after dining, Ruhan requested the staff to bring his vehicle, only to discover it was missing.

CCTV footage later revealed that the theft occurred around 2 am, with unknown individuals making off with the BMW. The incident was promptly reported to the Shivaji Park police, leading to the registration of a case under section 303(2) (punishment for theft) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023. Ruhan’s attorney, Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh, stated that authorities are currently reviewing additional CCTV footage in hopes of identifying the culprits.

Bastian – At the Top has earned a reputation as a premier dining destination, attracting Mumbai’s elite with its stunning city views and luxurious atmosphere. Owned by Shilpa Shetty, the restaurant has become synonymous with upscale dining experiences.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra, renowned for her role in the 1993 thriller Baazigar, has enjoyed a successful career in Bollywood with notable films like Dhadkan and Phir Milenge. Beyond her acting endeavors, she is a prominent wellness advocate, author, and entrepreneur, with investments spanning fitness and the restaurant industry. Married to businessman Raj Kundra, Shilpa shares a close-knit family life with their two children, Viaan and Samisha, often showcased on her social media platforms.

The incident at Bastian raises concerns about security at high-profile venues and has prompted discussions on the measures needed to ensure the safety of patrons and their belongings. The investigation continues as police work to resolve the case and apprehend those responsible for the theft.
