Independent MP Pappu Yadav, representing Purnia in Bihar, has reported receiving serious death threats, allegedly from members of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. The MP has released an audio recording of the threat, which has prompted him to file a formal complaint with senior police officials.
In the audio, a caller claims to know Yadav’s whereabouts and mentions that they attempted to contact him from prison but he did not answer. The recording includes abusive language directed at Yadav, highlighting the severity of the threat. Yadav shared this audio with journalists on Monday to bring attention to the situation.
Threats on Social Media
The threats escalated when, on October 26, a Facebook account under the name Mayank Singh posted a warning aimed at Yadav. The post referenced news reports regarding Yadav’s comments about Bishnoi, advising him to remain within his limits and avoid making statements that could attract danger. It ominously concluded, “Otherwise, we will make you rest in peace.”
This incident follows recent media attention surrounding Lawrence Bishnoi, particularly after a gang member claimed responsibility for the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique. The member cited Siddique’s close ties with Bollywood actor Salman Khan as a motive for the killing.
Yadav’s Open ChallengeIn a bold response to the threats and the ongoing violence, Pappu Yadav publicly challenged Lawrence Bishnoi, asserting that he could dismantle the criminal network surrounding Bishnoi within 24 hours if given the opportunity. This statement has further inflamed tensions between the two figures.
Security ConcernsIn light of the threats, Yadav has urgently called for enhanced security measures. He has formally requested the Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) to upgrade his security from ‘Y category’ to ‘Z category.’ Yadav has also addressed a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, expressing his fears for his safety. He stated, “I have been threatened in the name of Lawrence. A complaint has been made to the DGP and IG of Bihar regarding this. I am hurt by the repeated threats as any untoward incident can happen to me. The government needs to be serious about my security.”

In his letter, Yadav requested additional security personnel in each district of Bihar and special arrangements for events and public gatherings, citing the urgent need for protection amid the ongoing threats.
Meeting with Baba Siddique’s Family
In a related development, Pappu Yadav visited Mumbai on October 24, where he met with Zeeshan Siddique, the son of the slain NCP leader Baba Siddique. During this visit, Yadav expressed his desire to meet Salman Khan; however, the actor’s busy schedule prevented this meeting from taking place.

Baba Siddique was shot dead on the evening of October 12 in Bandra East, Mumbai, by three assailants. The police investigation is ongoing, with several arrests made as authorities work to uncover the mastermind behind the murder.
As Pappu Yadav navigates this dangerous situation, the political and social implications of these threats highlight the escalating tensions within the region and the broader impact of organized crime on public figures.
