In a heartfelt segment from the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, Amitabh Bachchan paid tribute to the late Ratan Tata, highlighting his humble nature. The episode, featuring guests Boman Irani and Farah Khan, included a touching memory shared by Bachchan from a flight they took together.
Reflecting on their encounter, Bachchan recounted, “What a man! I can’t express it enough. He was such a simple human being.” He narrated an incident from their journey to London, where both were on the same flight. After landing at Heathrow Airport, Tata found himself in a predicament. Amitabh explained, “The people who were supposed to pick him up had already left, and he couldn’t find them. So, he went into a phone booth to make a call.”
While waiting outside, Bachchan was surprised when Tata approached him with a request: “Amitabh, can I borrow some money from you? I don’t have money to make a phone call!” This moment perfectly encapsulated Tata’s modesty and down-to-earth personality, even in a challenging situation.
