Salman Khan has resumed his hosting duties on Bigg Boss 18, continuing to work despite facing death threats. He filmed another episode of ‘weekend ka war’ on Friday, marking his first public appearance since the recent death of his close friend, politician Baba Siddique.
In a newly released promo for Saturday’s episode, Salman appeared less energetic than usual as he addressed contestants’ behavior from the previous week. He specifically confronted Avinash for his recent altercation with fellow contestant Chum Darang, during which he allegedly made racist comments. “What do you think your parents must think about you?” Salman asked Avinash.
During the promo, Salman reflected on his own experiences, stating, “Mere par bhi bahut saare laalchan lagae gae hain (I have been accused of many things). I know what my parents go through.”
He later turned his attention to contestant Arfeen Khan, highlighting his dismissive attitude toward the rules in the house. When Arfeen admitted to ignoring advice, Salman quipped that everyone, including himself, is beneath Arfeen.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai traffic police received a threatening message demanding ₹5 crore from Salman, prompting a case to be registered at Worli police station under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for threats and extortion. The message was received on the city’s traffic control WhatsApp helpline on Thursday afternoon. The Crime Branch was initially involved but later determined the threat to be non-serious, handing over the investigation to local authorities.
This isn’t the first time Salman has faced threats; he previously received death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which even resulted in gunfire outside his Bandra home in April. Recently, Navi Mumbai police uncovered a plot by the Bishnoi gang to kill Salman, arresting one of the alleged shooters, Sukhbir Singh, from Haryana’s Panipat.
Salman’s determination to continue with his commitments despite these challenges underscores his resilience and dedication to his work.
