BJP Hits Back at Congress After Kharge’s ‘Party of Terrorists’ Remark: ‘Reflects Congress’ True Character’

Date:

The BJP launched a sharp critique of Congress following its president Mallikarjun Kharge’s accusation that the ruling party is a “party of terrorists.” In response, BJP leaders accused Congress of routinely insulting the public and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming this reflects the party’s true character.

Kharge’s comments were made in reaction to remarks by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and PM Modi, who suggested that Congress is influenced by “urban Naxals,” a term used by right-wing groups to describe individuals they allege undermine the nation.

In a heated statement, Kharge claimed, “The BJP is a party of terrorists that lynches and assaults people, committing atrocities against tribals and Dalits.” He criticized the BJP’s leadership for supporting such acts while blaming others for them. “PM Modi has no right to make these accusations. Under his government, atrocities against Scheduled Castes and tribals persist,” he added.

BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla led the counterattack, labeling Congress the “most anti-Dalit party.” He stated, “‘Congress ki pehchaan, janta ka apmaan’ (insulting people is the Congress’ identity).” Poonawalla emphasized that millions voted for the BJP in previous elections and criticized Congress for blaming external factors for its failures.

He continued, “Now they claim the people have elected terrorists. This language reflects Congress’ character and DNA. They accuse PM Modi and the Other Backward Classes, but what have they done for Dalits?”

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari highlighted the BJP’s commitment to combating terrorism, asserting that under PM Modi, terror attacks have decreased significantly. “If any government has zero tolerance for terrorism and corruption, it is the BJP,” he said, noting the lack of incidents compared to the Congress-led UPA era.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh also responded, stating that Congress has historically supported terrorism, reinforcing the BJP’s stance in the ongoing political battle.
