On Friday evening, the Mysuru-Darbhanga Bagmati Express collided with a stationary freight train in Kavarapettai, Tamil Nadu, resulting in multiple injuries. The incident occurred around the Chennai Division, where at least two coaches of the express train derailed.
Train No. 12578, which had departed from Mysuru at 10:30 AM, was en route to Darbhanga when it crashed into the freight train near the Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh border. The collision caused several coaches to derail, and two of them caught fire.
