A devastating accident occurred on Sunday afternoon at the bus stand in Lalsot city, Dausa district, Rajasthan, when an uncontrolled dumper filled with gravel collided with several motorcycles and cars. Tragically, five people, including a young girl, lost their lives at the scene. Additionally, one individual succumbed to injuries while being transported to the hospital, and 11 others sustained serious injuries.
According to Lalsot Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Lokesh Sonwal, the accident was caused by brake failure on a long slope leading from Lalsot to Dausa. The dumper first collided with a bus before careening into a crowded area, where it struck numerous bikers, motorists, and pedestrians. The impact was so severe that a crane was required to extricate a young man whose legs were crushed.

In response to the tragedy, local residents expressed their outrage by closing the market and blocking roads, holding the police accountable for allowing heavy vehicles into the city during the day. ASP Sonwal confirmed that heavy vehicle entry is indeed prohibited during daylight hours and stated that an investigation is underway to determine how the dumper managed to enter the city. To prevent future incidents, both entry points into the city have been sealed off by police.
This tragic event has raised significant concerns about road safety and enforcement of regulations in the area.
